This place is consistently good. Service is professional, respectful and great. I love their cabbage salad with grilled prawns. Today we just had appetizers and they were excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Simmer offers the best Pho in town! Not just that, but their menu offers a range of Vietnamese dishes, and amazing Vietnamese iced coffee. I also highly enjoy their avocado & shrimp spring rolls. My to go order would have to be the P2, which is there a beef Pho. Additionally, everyone that I have been served by has gone out of their way to always make sure we have everything during our meal. Very lovely staff. And can I say that the establishment itself is very clean, organized, and modern. Anytime I am craving spring rolls or pho, I always tend to come here specially this location. Pho is my secret for a hangover cure.

Ambiance - this is a very nice restaurant. Comfortable and inviting. Service - we received good customer service and were seated promptly. Our orders were taken, and we didn't have to wait long. Food - I ordered the rare filet mignon pho, and my friend ordered the vegetarian pho. The portions are huge! I couldn't finish my meal, and what I took home is definitely enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow. I was saddened to find out that my rare filet did not come on the side, as I saw in the pictures on Yelp. When I inquired, the waitress told me that it had to be requested and said, "Sorry." I would have preferred that they corrected the misrepresentation. I ordered rare food for a reason. There was no indication on the menu that the meat would be on the side upon request. I also requested that my Thai iced tea come out with my main meal, but she brought it immediately out, which was not what I asked for. All in all the food was good and I will go again using the knowledge that I I have. I would just suggest that if someone orders rare meat, to let the customer know there are options to have the meat rare on the side or to have the meat placed inside the pho.

I used to live in San Jose and thought I can't find better pho anywhere else. I'm so glad I was wrong! I've found the best pho right here. Not only the broth is tasty and didn't leave my mouth dry that need water all day, all the meats are cooked perfectly. The even better part is they are not stingy on meats! I always feel I'm full on the proteins, not the noodles. They have the best egg rolls and spring roll too. I wish I had a bigger vocabulary to describe how good it is! It's that good.

We were in the area and decided to try this restaurant because of the consistent high ratings on Yelp. It was 93 degrees outside and their front doors were wide open and a/c wasn't working. There were several tables of people eating a late lunch so we decided to stay. We ordered the Vermicelli Bowl with egg rolls and Bird Nest with beef. Our servings were generous and oh so delicious. The egg rolls were crispy and flavorful. The servers are awesome, very friendly and attentive. Even though it was abnormally hot inside the restaurant, the servers were cheerful and stopped by several times to check on us and refill our water. They add a slice of cucumber in your ice water which was a refreshing addition. Can't wait to return when the a/c is working. Plenty of parking available in the huge lot.

Pho with tendon, tripe, and beef. (Forget which number it was) Short story, I was in Petaluma for July 4th weekend and wanted some Pho. A completely strange time to crave for some Pho when I'm not in SF or San Mateo. Anyways, found this place using a map search and compared to my normal spots, this place is good. You have cheap prices, lots of noodles, toppings, and accessories (i.e. sprouts, basil, jalapenos). The tendon was cooked right, not many places do that. They also have a wide selection of chilies from the basic table siracha to chili oil. I would recommend against using their table siracha as it was way too sweet and if you like spice, you should ask the waitress/waiter to ask for the chili bottle or chili oil. I would recommend this spot. I also saw they had draft beer near the counter and plenty of tables too. If you in the area and is craving some Pho, try this place out.

I was feeling bummed today, and wanted to give myself some self care with a solo lunch date. What a better way to soothe one's heart and soul than with some brothy pho! This was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect. Since I was having a self care moment, I wanted the ambiance to be somewhat nice... I really wasn't in the mood for anything too dive-y. The pics on Yelp looked nice and clean, so I thought I'd give it a try. (Which totally matched my experience -- it was totally a nice restaurant for a pho place!) I came in at around 2 PM on a Wednesday, which is pretty late, so I was surprised to see that almost half the restaurant was full, which I thought was a good sign. I was greeted by a bubbly caucasian waitress who took my order, which was a pho combo without the flank (steak, tendon, tripe, meatball) and a thai iced tea. I wasn't sure about the thai iced tea at first, because it was 6 bucks which seemed expensive.... but then I took a sip and was not disappointed... it was one of the best thai iced teas I've had in a while. It was super creamy with strong tea flavor, and not overly sweet -- it was really the perfect thai ice tea for my taste. So, I was okay withe the splurge. The pho came out quickly, and it was HUGE. It was bigger than my head! It was loaded with tons of everything, including the meat, which is great since they did not skimp on the good stuff. The broth tasted better than average -- super flavorful, and complex tasting, which I appreciated. I'm not sure if I was able to finish even half of it, but that's okay by me, because that means I'll have a pho lunch tomorrow as well! ;) I am very glad I drove up to Petaluma to drown my sorrows in pho and thai iced tea. It literally made me feel better. After I ate, I started journaling in my notebook with creative ideas -- a sure sign that I was feeling better. Anyhow -- definitely will be back... Lots of yummy things on the menu to try.
